BOB MOVER JAZZ IMPROVISATION CLASSES

Bob Mover has been a noted Jazz educator for over thirty years. He has taught Jazz workshops, master classes and private study to instrumentalists and vocalists in the US, Canada, Europe, Brazil and Israel. With musical and verbal eloquence, Mr. Mover demonstrates the artistic use of concepts and principles enriched by his own deep knowledge and personal experience of Jazz.
The workshops provide students of all levels, from novice to professional, with inspiring, practical and useful practice and performance techniques, such as:
- helping the student feel the music `viscerally` by tapping and singing jazz rhythms, phrases, solos and heads
- finding the 'pocket' and 'deep pocket' of the time

understanding of phrasing and musical 'prosody'

articulation, and placement of eighth-note lines

learning tunes systematically using ones ears, logic and feeling

using `voice leading` in a linear context

chord and scale substitution and re-harmonization

understanding and use of elements of improvisation (scales, arpeggios, neighbor notes, upper structures, passing tones)
